We love autumn; the golds, reds and warm browns, the smoky scent in the air. Not forgetting, going out into the sun and coming back with cold rosy cheeks because of the nip in the air. During the autumn season (which we are holding onto tightly here at Bronte Rose as a fully-fledged bitter winter will no doubt soon arrive) we also enjoy the changes that occur in our kitchens as well as our gardens.

The kitchen is usually the hub of a home and never more so than during the autumn and winter seasons. Families congregate around the table to chat while stews and hearty casseroles are bubbling away. Their mouth-watering aromas ensure that, whether you live alone or run a busy household, the kitchen continues to be the favourite place.

Being such an important room the kitchen often takes on a personality of its own and for those who, like us, love a more old-fashioned, vintage or shabby chic style there are many ways to inject this into your kitchen.

One of the biggest problems in any kitchen is that there simply doesn’t seem to be enough storage. It doesn’t matter whether you have a tiny galley kitchen or a large farmhouse style; you always seem to fill it to the rafters (or is that just us?). Fortunately, you no longer need to rely upon basic plastic tubs for your kitchen, which admittedly do the job but hardly do anything for your style, as we have a range of vintage storage items which look fabulous and do the job.

Pretty Accessories

We love our quaint and quirky kitchen accessories. We have everything from vintage style clocks, which help you keep an eye on the time while putting your favourite meals together, to fun vintage signs, which are bound to give you a laugh.

Perfectly Practical Items

Our kitchens all need certain items that help with the practical side of kitchen work, regardless of the season. Our shabby chic and somewhat retro designed aprons, table mats, coasters and more all do what they are designed to and of course look fabulous at the same time.

It doesn’t matter how busy your kitchen gets this autumn; you will still be able to enjoy cooking, baking, eating, chatting and much laughter in a room that oozes vintage loveliness and really adds to the special occasions that are each and every meal spent together as a family.
