Dreamy colours

The basis of all shabby chic decor is a dreamy white colour scheme. Pastel colours in shades of pink, blue and green along with greys and mocha colours are a great way to add some soft, complimentary colour to your predominantly cream and white base. One of the best ways to do this is through fine details and furniture in the room. From grey coloured blankets, duck egg blue shelving and items such as our decorative cake stands in your kitchen - a delightful addition to any country kitchen!

A hint of florals

English country garden style floral designs work perfectly in a shabby chic home. Often found in blues, pinks and greens, they complement white and cream colours perfectly. Think floral bedding in your bedroom, or our English rose design coasters for your kitchen along with vintage floral teacups and a teapot.

Mismatched furniture

If you keep the main elements of the room neutral like the walls and floors, you can add an eclectic mix of furniture finds in different shades and textures to your room. Mismatched furniture items will work together in the same space with seeming overbearing.

Distressed finishes

Nothing says shabby chic like an upcycled piece of furniture with that classic distressed finish. Our whitewash lace heart photo frame and antique white mini chest of drawers are perfect examples of this look. If you’re feeling really adventurous why not have a go at creating this look yourself?
